I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've gone to bed and to sleep before my boyfriend. We're just on different schedules a lot of the time. We go to bed together a couple of nights a week but mostly he beats me by a few hours while I catch up with my computer work and edit photos.
This ends up being the picture of us on those nights, eventually. I sneak into bed and try not to wake him up every night- I'm not always successful. He's a pretty light sleeper so more often than not I get some joke about the late hour or a kiss goodnight. And then I cuddle up as close as possible- close enough to feel his body heat radiating onto my face, close enough to wrap myself around him- and I join him in Neverneverland. :)

For me, the song is about simple things in life that sometimes go unnoticed, and the longing to share them with another... What a powerful thing, the human voice... Sharper than any surgeon's scalpel when we hurt one another - soft as a mother's breast when we're consoling. When Norah begs us to come away with her, there's a part of us all that wants to go... Even those who are blessed with all there is to be had, have a part of them that longs to slip away in the night. Our human souls have a place in them that can never be filled completely, and this song speaks to that part of us that wants to leave our mundane lives behind and meet our lover on a mountaintop. The right song, the right singer, the right arrangement... and anything can happen....
